Homeschooling with Four Kids ~ October 6, 2020

It’s definitely been an interesting adventure homeschooling our kids. Granted, our youngest two are not “officially” in school, but we still do a lot with them. They sit in on science, participate in art when they can, as well as devotions, Spanish and reading. Declan is learning to read with the same book we used for Javi, and Cassandra just wants to be a part of everything that’s happening. It’s awesome to have so much uninterrupted time with them, and to really focus on their school this year.

One thing we’ve really been focusing on with Javi and Keilana is writing skills, specifically writing all of the letters and numbers correctly. We’ve started having them write out sentences that have every letter of the alphabet in them, making sure they do proper punctuation and capitalization as well. They are doing such a good job, and it’s neat to see their handwriting improve so much and become really legible!

Lover and Keilana did special time today, and Lover worked at the food pantry. I cleaned the dining room, and painted the window sill in that room that still hadn’t been painted from when we replaced the windows. 🙂 It was nice to get a little project like that done. I also started painting a little side table, and a picture frame for my room. We’re slowly settling back into the house and getting some annoying little to-dos crossed off the list. We don’t want to get out of balance, and go whole hog on the house projects, but it’s nice to wrap some of these things up.

Tuesdays are a fuller day for Lover, and that makes the day go by quickly. Before we know it, it’s time for devotions and bed – and that was our day!
