Right around the corner from where we stayed is a bakery- Franz Bakery, and they have a bakery outlet! We were so glad we discovered this on our last day in Seattle and not our first, because we would have gained a thousand pounds! We bought sourdough bread, cinnamon raisin bread, old fashioned donuts, cookies and a blueberry muffin, and then we also got a loaf of nine grain bread for free. So Much Carbs! 🙂 Everything was delicious.
Then we drove downtown to the Olympic Sculpture park. It was a little chilly for walking at first, but it was still nice to be outside. Then the sun came out and it turned into a really nice day! We walked through most of the park (really odd sculptures, I think we are more street art kind of people), and then walked along the port, just taking it all in. It was a nice day and there weren’t a ton of people out. Plus it was early! We had gotten up early to go to a church in Tacoma, but then we read that they were limited to services of 50 people, and we didn’t want to intrude on the congregation’s chance to get together. So we opted out.
We saw some street art, and followed some piggie foot prints near Pike Place market again, and the kids charmed everyone as usual. Then we drove to the area by the University to get gyros, and MAN was it good! We each got gyros (they rivaled our favorite place back in Denver), and we got the kids gyro meat in hummus, and gyro meat w/ a feta cheese sauce on fries, and all of it was AMAZING. 10/10, as Nathan would say!
