Yesi came over mid morning and we headed down to Fayetteville to check out a place called Wilson Park. It had this really cool castle/sculpture thing that reminded me a little bit of Gaudi’s work. There were also tons of butterfly bushes and tons of big fat butterflies everywhere drinking the nectar! I had fun trying to get some good pictures of them.
We walked around the park for a bit, and then the kids were hungry so we set up our picnic lunch. Everybody ate lots, and then we headed to Lake Atalanta to dip our toes in the water. Some kids dipped more than just their toes! We also got a great summary today of our book that went out in a newsletter. We are hoping all of these promotional things start to pay off and we start getting a bunch of sales!
Eventually, I got hot and uncomfortable, and we headed back. Yesi ran home to do some of her stuff, and we agreed to meet up later for dinner. I took a nap and Lover taught the kids the electric slide and the cha cha. 🙂
We were going to cook at our Airbnb, but then they decided to show us The Catfish Hole! So we drove back down to Fayetteville and got a seat at the table, so to speak. 🙂 Yesi and James had raved to us about their hush puppies, and they were right, they were a huge hit with everybody! The ‘fixins’ are unlimited, and include hush puppies, coleslaw, pickles and pickled tomatoes. We also ordered shrimp, scallops, catfish and frog legs! Seafood galore! Everyone ate too much and it was lots of fun.
