We hosted church again this week, and had our biggest crowd ever! People are really enjoying gathering together in person, and having that fellowship. It’s been a lot of fun. Thankfully there were only a couple of issues with the streaming, and we were able to watch our church’s service without a lot of problems. We might need to invest in some more chairs or something if this keeps up! 🙂
People stuck around after service, and we talked and got caught up on each other’s Christmases, and just general news. It was a really nice morning. Then we relaxed for a couple of hours and made lunch. We tried out a new recipe – Chicken Cordon Bleu casserole. It was really good! KK wasn’t a huge fan of the melted swiss cheese, but otherwise it was a hit. Simple and easy, and a great way to use up leftover Christmas ham!
Javi has started reading the second Harry Potter book on his own. He made it through a bunch of chapters, and then asked me to help him download the audiobook since he was having a bit of trouble and wanted to read faster. I encouraged him to read long with the audiobook, to help him continue to progress his skills. It’s great to see him wanting to read on his own! 🙂
In the afternoon, we grabbed some leftover treats and headed to friends’ house to play games. We played Azul and Blockbuster while the kids hung out, watched us, and then watched a movie. Funnily enough, even though we’ve been together constantly for the last who knows how long, they wanted to stay right on top of us while we played games too! Eventually they got absorbed in their own things, and had a nice time.
