We’ve been dealing with more wildfire smoke that is keeping the mountains out of sight, and hurting our throats! But it has been a little cooler which is nice. I went for a long walk this morning and missed seeing the mountains – and I also realized how out of practice I am with walking! But the sunshine and fresh air felt good.
Then I helped Keilana fold her laundry from yesterday. She thought this was the worst part, and I agree! π But she got it done while Cassandra took a bath and everyone else worked on other chores. Then we traded off; I went upstairs to write for a few hours, and Lover finished chores and did school with the kids. They learned about non-Newtonian fluids! They used cornstarch and water, but not too much! They mixed them together in a bag to help with the mess, but it made it more difficult to mix! Then they put it into a bowl, and they played with it, experiencing how it was hard to squish together, and then when released it would flow through their hands. They’re called that because they react to pressure.
They also did some worksheets, and their Spanish videos. Then they did some more school with Lover while I kept writing! I made really good progress on my edits of Intruder – I’m hopeful to be able to finish up soon! Tomorrow I’ll do a bunch more, so we’ll see how far I get.
I came down in time for lunch (leftovers), and afterwards we cleaned up and did quiet time. Then we played Dutch Blitz with Keilana, and Lover won. Then we played with Javi, and Javi won! He was so excited. Cassandra kept herself entertained by sorting all of the cards by number. π Then the kids went outside to play, and we relaxed for a bit. We had planned to go for a walk, but they were playing happily, so we let them be. Of course when they got wind of that, everyone wanted to go for a walk! π So we headed out for a dusky evening walk, avoiding the sprinklers!
And that was our Thursday!
